Question : I was cleaning my sons ear with a qtip and its bleeding now. Should I be concerned? I think I went to XXXXXXX

Hi,

Welcome to XXXXXXX and thanks for your query.

It can be a simple injury to the external ear, but it is possible that the ear drum (tympanic membrane) could have been perforated (hopefully that is not the case).
Ear drum perforation can lead to infection of the middle ear, its consequences and possible hearing loss.

Hence it is wise to attend the ER as early as possible.
