Question : Hi, I am a 35yrs old male. I had some type of eczema on my legs for last 15 years. About one year ago, I developed a black rash on my thigh which seems to be under the skin. It is not itchy and is not excreting anything. It has grown slowly in size over last year and I am a little concerned.

2. Is it raised above the skin i.e can you feel its height or raised border with your fingers?
3. What is your skin colour?

For your eczema I hope you are using potent corticosteroid cream. Otherwise get a prescription of the same.

1. Rash is not consistent shape but approx 8 cm long and 5 cm wide at widest point;
2. It does not appear to be raised above the skin and I do not feel any border. It appears to be just under the skin;
3. I am asian (brown) of Indian descent

Going by the description I think it is some kind of a benign nevus.
In Indian skin color, there is no reason to worry too much about it.
Just keep a watch on the following symptoms: Rapid increase in size, change in color, bleeding, pain, ulceration.
