Every Time I Have A Bowel Movement There Is Visible

Question: Every time I have a bowel movement there is visible mucus covering it or in it in large chunks. I have chronic constipation and usually can only go maybe 2-3 times a week and it’s usually not a lot and hard to pass. Every 2-3 weeks or so, I will be able to pass a large bowel movement which is usually soft at that point but can make me nauseous or break into a cold sweat or have stomach cramps right before it happens. Sometimes on the days I can’t poop my stomach feels so full and hard and it hurts. Please help me figure out what this might be I don’t have a primary care doctor.

Have seen your details,
You need to take a laxative for some time to make things good.
When your body is not able to pass stools properly it tries to secrete lots and lots of mucous to assist moment of stool.Left untreated this may cause more severe problems like Hemorrhoids,Fissures, Coccydynia etc.
Start taking Lactulose 30-45 ml per day once daily at night time.
It would take 2-3 days initially to kick in.
Once stool starts passing inform me to decide further line of action.

Thank you for your response. This is somewhat relieving as I was worried I may be experiencing an obstruction or necrosis of intenstines.
Upon googling the medication you recommended it says I need a prescription to get the lactulose. Is there somewhere I can get this otc?
