Hi,

Thanx for posting your query on XXXXXXX

There are many causes of pain on left side of chest starting from outer most layer ie skin to the XXXXXXX organs. Some of the common sites of origin of such pain are

Muscular.
Costochondritis
Ribs
Involvement of lung and pleura
Oesophagitis
Heart
Organs in the abdomen

Though you have`nt described your pain in detail, to me it does`nt appear to be anything serious and is more like a muscular pain.

You should at least get a x XXXXXXX of the chest done which may help in identifying the underlying cause and if indicated then more tests can be carried out. In the meanwhile you may take a pain killer and apply a local analgesic ointment.

You may consult a pulmonologist or post further information on XXXXXXX like do you have any cough, fever, breathing difficulty or any acidity? Did you hurt yourself in the recent past or do you do some vigorous physical exercise? With this information i may be able to help you further.

Take care.
