Brief Answer:
Itchy eyes can have many causes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

Itchy eyes could have many causes. More common causes include dry eyes, some type of allergy or asthma, or some foreign body.

In case of dry eyes, avoid prolonged watching laptop, XXXXXXX or tv. There are eyedrops available over the counter for dry eyes. These eyedrops help in restoring the lubricant fluid between eyelid and the eye. This requires testing by an ophthalmologist for reason of dry eyes.

If there is some kind of allergy or asthma, then exposure to the allergen can cause itchy eyes, alongwith other symptoms like watering of eyes, sneezing, etc. Management of the condition includes, avoid allergen, washing eyes frequently and take cetrizine or another anti-allergic to reduce the symptoms.

Foreign body in eyes, requires urgent consultation with ophthalmologist to avoid further damage to eyes.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
