For How Long Does Nicotine Stay In The Body?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Jan 2015
Question: Alright, so I smoked my last cigarette on December 3, at 10 am. I have a nicotine test for a new hospital job on December 22 at 1:30 pm. Before any of this, I had been smoking half a pack a day for about 5 months. I had stopped smoking a few times in the past, in total, I started smoking July 4, 2012, with breaks throughout. The hospital said it would be a urine test for nicotine, but I want to make sure nicotine and continuing are out of my urine and blood by that time. Is that possible?

Brief Answer:
yes you will clear the test

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Considering your history of smoking (5 months, half pack and 19 days gap between stopping of smoking and date of test) you can easily clear the test. In blood nicotine can be detected maximum up to 10 days and in urine maximum up to 7 days after stopping of smoking.

All the best for test and Job.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to answer more if needed.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
