Question: hi there ,I would like to ask ,I had unprotected sex and unfortunately I had to take the emergency morning after pill. I was bleeding for several days and it happened again(unprotected sex) while I was still bleeding. Can I get pregnant and if yes is it safe to take the morning after pill again (that would be twice in a one week?)Please advise

Brief Answer:
Yes, you should repeat I-pill.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

I can understand your concern.

Bleeding after I-pill is called withdrawal bleeding, which is a side effect of I-pill, it does not signify that you will not get pregnant, it is due to the high dosage of hormone in I-pill.

I-pill gives protection against one time sex so after taking I-pill if you again had sex, you should repeat the dose of I-pill.

Please use regular method of contraception in the future to prevent pregnancy because excessive use of I-pill may cause menstrual irregularities.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

Good luck.
Regards
