Question: For last 5 years I have unusual fluttering(biting) in heart muscle mostly near the upper joint of mediastinum that happens infrequently ( sometimes once in a week or once in a month) and lasts less than a fraction of second. When it happens ie. SINGLE BITING ( fluttering) after that I just feels like heart is not there for less than fraction of second. I also have chest muscle fluttering mostly right side of chest. It happens mostly in right side of my heart and above the thymus position feels like compression of vein or artery above thymus for a fraction of second. Apart from that it happens more frequently in a certain body posture such as: if I stay in exhaling position and bend low for few second then it happens and also sometimes neck movement from left to right. But never lasts for more than fraction of seconds. Sometimes it does not happen for more than a month.

I do not any CHEST PAIN and my blood pressure is 120/80 and Height is 172cm and weight is 65 kg. No palpitation . I have done ecg and attached my report. I was under stress while doing ecg. I do not have any other symptoms. I have little acidity problem.

1) What could be the possible cause of this?
2) I have heard of cardiac tumor. Is it the typical case?

Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that as per the symptoms explained by you it doesn’t seem that you have any significant cardiac issue however before jumping on to any conclusion I would like to tell you to upload the full ECG image as the image which you have uploaded is showing just the ECG interpretation and not the ECG tracing.

Also I would like to know few other things

1. Do you have any other medical issues like diabetes or hypertension?

2. Smoking habit ?

3. Any family history of heart disease?

4. Any medication which you are taking ?

Kindly upload the full ecg image and revert back with required information.

Kind Regards

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the feedback.

Your ecg is fine just a Rsr’ pattern which is normal is a majority of population.

In your blood results your TSH levels are slightly towards the higher side which in some individuals can cause such ectopic activity of heart. If this test was done more than 3 months back then you should repeat your thyroid profile.

Also I would like to suggest you to get an echocardiography done.

Can this type of tumor causes symptoms for more than 5 years without any other problem?
My chest X-ray is also normal.

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
From your symptoms it’s highly unlikely that you are having a cardiac issue. However I would like to see the Echocardiography report before conclusion.

Cardiac tumours are very rare and the patients usually have history of syncope ( blackouts) or dizziness.

I hope this information will answer your query.
