Question : For several days, my foot (the top of my foot where it bends up to the bottom of my shin) feels like its swollen. It is not swollen, painful or hot. i didnt think too much of it until that same foot started feeling tingly on and off whether I am walking or sitting. i just wondered if it was worth a doctor visit, please advise, thanks.

Brief Answer:
Yes, a doctor visit is worthwhile...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It seems like the symptoms are very subtle. It's difficult to conclude the cause based on description alone. A physical examination to assess if there is indeed a pedal odema and neurological disturbance will help us determine the next approach. Pedal odema can be assessed by applying pressure on the area that appears swollen and neurological functions are assessed both by a clinical examination and a few blood tests.

It is possible that you may not have a condition that needs attention. But we will be able to get to this conclusion only by testing. So definitely good enough to see a doctor. You don't need emergency consultation; just a regular check by your primary care provider.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
