For The Last Year, I Have Been Having What Feels

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Apr 2019
Question: For the last year, i have been having what feels like inflamation issues in my colon and large intestine. It constantly feels as if my large intestine and colon are being squeezed with pressure. In the past i have had some narrowing of stools but that seems to be better now. I have never passed blood in my stools. i have never been constipated. i occassionally wake at night with painful diarrea. There has been some mild nausea on and off but no vomiting. I do frequently feel fatigued especially towards the evening. I have tried fiber supplementation and colon cleansing but didnt really help. I fear of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflamitory Bowel Disease, or Colon Cancer. I have not noticed any dietary triggers that make symptoms better or worse. Please help

Inflammatory bowel disease likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for asking!
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:

1. First of all, please let me know a bit more details i.e:

- Have you used antibiotics recently or any other drugs?
- Any progressive weight-loss?

2. You should be evaluated with:
- colonoscopy
- blood work (CBC, LFT, Amylase, Lipase, and KFT)
- fecal blood test plus fecal calprotectin test
- fecal culture sensitivity tests

3. meantime please take plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

Hope it was helpful to you!
Let me know if I can assist you further.

I havnt taken any antibiotics for at least six months. I had a case of strep throat to clear up. the only other medicine i have taken is Omeprezol trying to help my acid reflux but have since discontinued use of that. i also have some esophegus restriction that makes some foods difficult to swallow. I havent had any weight loss. The diarrea is infrequent maybe a couple of times per month. My main issue of discomfort is the feeling of inflamation in my large intestine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back
I read carefully all your concerns.
I insist that you should perform exams that I wrote you.
after that we can give a more accurate opinion.
the fact that diarrhoea is not permanent but it is some time during the month is a good sign and is more common for IBS.
Otherwide you need to be evaluated.
