Question: For the past couple of weeks, I’ve had pain in my lower left side gravitating to my back. Original diagnosis was constipation/gas. I did a colonoscopy prep to relieve the situation. Pain was still there. Had a cat scan on Monday, thought maybe it was a kidney stone but it wasn’t. Could it still be due to constipation? It really hurts.

Yes

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.

Yes, constipation is still a possible cause.
Diverticulitis should also be considered as a cause of left lower quadrant pain with history of constipation.

Any recommendation for constipation treatment? I did 64 oz of Gatorade with over 200 mg of Miralax, along with ducolax. What can I do to get better results?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the additional information.
Miralax itself is a good laxative. You can continue taking it.
Make sure you take high fiber diet and drink enough fluids also.
Alternatively you can take bulk laxative like metamucil along with it for better bowel movements.

Dr.R.K.
