Question: hi
for 15 or 20 years now I have a recurring...rash I guess.
my symptoms are
extereme fever (103-106) body aches, stiff neck and complete body rash.
this happens every year. it last for 3-7 days.
once it was so bad I lay on the floor for three days until I called an amublamce. They did not know hwat it could be.
they check for everything, meningitis being the most obvious check. nothing. finanlly an older doctor came through and announced it was Legionaiires disease. They treated me with antibiotics and breathing stuff and I was cured. but....next year it came again. uff I spent some time in the middle east and it has never happened before that. no doctor I know has ever found out what it was. now its back. forgive the typos

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms appear to be due to viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms appear to be most probably due to viral infection but other causes has to be ruled out.Legionnaires disease is usually transmitted by inhalation of infected aerosols from contaminated air conditioners and other water sources. You need to do few investigations complete blood count, urine analysis,Esr,CRP to rule out bacterial infection and immunodeficiency. Also I would like to know more about your history to order few specific investigations. For symptomatic relief I advise you Paracetamol tablet and cold sponging if you have fever and if you have pain in the rash area apply calamine lotion.Take an antibiotic orally preferably Cefixime for atleast 5 days to reduce infection. Do bath with lukewarm water twice a day, drink plenty of water and fluids, take foods rich vitamins and minerals like leafy vegetables, milk, eggs, fruits etc.If you need further assistance I'm happy to help you
Thanks.
