Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Giddiness which occurs only when lying down has two important reasons:

a) Problem in balance organs which are situated in inner ear or in vestibular nerve or nuclei which are situated inside skull

b) Some problem in stability of cervical (neck) spine.

c) In many cases inspite of detailed investigations, no cause can be detected.

You can tackle this problem in following ways:

i) Have a check up by a physician and causes like low hemoglobin, high blood pressure and diabetes are looked into. Your doctor may also consider X-ray cervical spine and other investigations based on clinical examination.

ii) Anti-vertigo medicine will be considered by doctor after clinical evaluation.

I suggest you to send me details of your illness, investigations already done and treatment taken. This will help in understanding your problem better.

Pratap
