Question : Good Evening,

i get acid reflux periodically, it tends to come and go with diet etc. lately my epeisode has been a little worse. i dont get heartburn really just a a cough where i feel like acid is coming back up my esophogus. my throat, isnt neccasarily sore but i feel like its irritated near and around my %E2%80%9Cadams apple%E2%80%9D in my neck and slight tightness in my throat with a lump feeling when swallowing. i tend to belch and hiccup a lot after eating, lately its been worse at night and after eating.

im not on any medicine for it because ive never rally needed other then the occasional tums or gaviscon which worked great. the thing i havent really gotten is the irritated throat. would you teccommend doing a 14 day nexium trial. i know it takes a few days to kick in. thank you

Nexium is a brand name of esomeprazole and is quite effective for gastritis and acid reflux.
You can try Nexium for a couple of weeks. You have to take the tablet in the empty stomach in the morning.

Diet restrictions like avoiding spicy foods and restricting the use of alcohol will be effective. You can lift the head end of the bed a few cms while sleeping can help to prevent reflux.

In severe cases, an endoscopy may be required.
