Good Morning, I'm writing on behalf of my best friend who has been seeking care for abdominal distention, bloating, no appetite, intermittent nausea, loud abdominal gurgling noises that were not present before. Symptoms began on or around 6/23/2019 and have not resolved. He has gone to the emergency room twice, a CT scan was done of the abdomen and lower pelvic area with contrast on 6/25 findings were Colonic anastomisis involving the distal descending colon where there is some localized colonic dilation which is likely not clinically significant. The adjacent upstream distal descending colon demonstrates some mild adjacent stranding which is favored to reflect scarring rather than minimal inflammation/coltits. He has a history sigmoid colon resection performed in 2009 from diverticulitis. Blood work done in the hospital and follow up blood work performed on 7/13 was normal, additional blood work from a 2nd hospital visit was also normal. Stool analysis was also done to check for bacteria/virus/parasite all tests were negative for the presence of bacteria/viruses and parasites. X-ray preformed was also normal, an ultrasound was also performed with no clinically significant findings. He has been seeing a gastroenterologist and was scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy which was canceled due to Hurricane XXXXXXX He has only been eating scrambled eggs and ensure drinks to try and stall the weight-loss that has occurred due to having no appetite. Total weight loss is over 30 lbs at this point. We are trying to get him rescheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy but the time-frame is unknown. At this point when it is possible to do so would it be best to have him go the hospital again and ask them to perform the procedures. His mental health is suffering as well due to the time-frame that this has been going on with no diagnosis.
