Hi,

Dry cough following upper respiratory infection takes few week to improve. If I were to be your treating doctor, I suggest the following options:

1. Take cough lozenges whenever the throat seems hurt due to cough.
2. Warm ginger tea can be tried.
3. Sleep in an inclined position with head end of the cot elevated.
4. Deep steam inhalation to relax bronchospasm
5. Antitussive cough syrup containing codeine (prescription medication) can be taken under guidance of your doctor.
6. Bronchodilators such as salbutamol syrup or asthalin inhalers have beneficial effects for cough bouts.

You may try any of the aforementioned suggestions after discussion with your treating doctor.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
