Question : Hi Doctor,

I have got throat infection, and pains little when i swallow, Feeling feverish also
From yesterday evening i have got the pain,
have taken one paracetomol tablet

It seems to be pharyngitis. It is most probably viral and will come down on its own. Till then we need to control the symptoms.

My advise is as follows:
- Tablet paracetamol-whenever you have fever or upto 4 times a day
- Tablet cetirizine before sleeping for 2 - 3 days
- Fruits
- Liquid diet if pain while swallowing is bad
- Saline gargles to clear the throat

Mostly the above treatment will be helpful in controlling symptoms and take care of the infection as well.
