Brief Answer:
Home pick up isn't available yet...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I understand you wish to get tested for COVID-19 and are looking forwards to get it done through home sample collection.

Considering the type of infectious material SARS-COV2 virus (the causative virus) is, at this point of time regulations don't allow for home collection. You need to visit the designated laboratory centre with a prescription from a doctor to get the test done.

Hope this answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Could be a viral infection...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the details you provided about Mr XXXXXXX and his family. The prescription you attached wasn't very legible; however it seems like this patient got treated with a course of antibiotic along with analgesics and symptomatic treatment medications.

Considering the infection spread easily to all the close contacts (family members), it is easy to assume the cause is likely a virus; however without an opportunity to examine the patient while symptomatic and without supportive laboratory test it is extremely difficult to predict the cause.

In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, if all other recovered patient including Mr XXXXXXX got better in 2-5 days the chances of COVID-19 is not likely. The novel coronavirus that is causing COVID-10 infection has an average recovery period of 7-10 days and my assumption is based on average recovery period alone.

If you or any of your family members have not been in close contact with any of the ill members, I think you should not be overly concerned yet.

Hope I was able to clear your doubts. If you have any other specific doubts, feel free to ask me again.

Regards
