HIV Risk During Massage 3 Days Old Open Cut Area

During massage 3 days old open cut area touched blood of massage. What is the HIV risk
Risks depend...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There are multiple factors that varies HIV transmission risk. Factors include the nature of wound - raw wound or healed wound; type of secretions contaminating the wound - sweat, saliva or XXXXXXX blood / body fluid secretions; and infective nature of the second person.
The most effective means to rule out HIV transmission is to contact the masseur and check HIV status. Most people oblige to the request and provide you the information.
A 3 day cut wound usually is in the process of healing where the scab formed prevents entry of new infective particle including HIV. If the wound wasn't raw and bleeding, it's least likely that HIV will enter through the wound. In such cases HIV risk is less likely.
But if the wound was raw and was bleeding again, then contact with blood stained or body fluid stained secretions from HIV infected individual will expose you to some infection.
So clarify more, can you confirm the following:
1. If your wound is process of healing / healed or did you have any raw area exposed / the wound was bleeding? You can provide image of the wound if you are not sure. There is an option to upload pictures here on the right side.
2. Was there blood stains or body fluid stains contact on the wound?
Awaiting your reply...
Regards
