Question : HOW LONG DOES GEMZAR STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM, AND WOULD IT CAUSE LUNG DAMAGE TO CONTINUE TO GET WORSE AFTER MORE THAN A MONTH . WOULD IT POSSIBLY KILL PATIENT.

Thanks for your query.

Gemzar doesn't stay in system for more than 48hrs. But if it has caused interstitial lung disease, it can persist or get worse even for days to weeks after stopping gemzar. Steroids help to improve the lung changes faster.

However, it should settle down within a month.
