                                            Liver fibrosis during initial stages
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Fibrosis is like a healing process that takes place if you are injured over the skin and the ends try to heal leaving a scar. So imagine this on a liver.
You had missed on few details here:
1) What is the age of your daughter
2) What was the likely reason for injury of the liver that lead to fibrosis? Generally Hepatitis Virus, alcohol, fat injure the liver.
At present the main stay therapy is to target and remove the injury and try to stop further fibrosis (scar). More scarring will deplete the functions of liver. Fibrosis if it is ongoing shall lead to moderate to severe cirrhosis of the liver and transplant is the only treatment.
So I encourage you to ask your daughter's doctor the reason for fibrosis. Try to eliminate the injury. There are no active surgeries or medicines that will reverse the progression. The currently available antifibrotic therapies have been directed against suppressing hepatic injury rather than subduing fibrosis.
Inform me with new and other details.
