A purple lump on the top of the thigh could be due to a internal bleeding. Such cases do recover spontaneously without any treatment in 3-4 weeks after skin color changes like a bruise.
If there is no history of injury the bleeding disorders or decreased platelet count needs to be ruled out after consulting your physician and proper investigations.
