Question : my brother is 10 years old diagnosed with acute leukemia (1st stage) yesterday only. i want to ask whether it is curable or not? what type of treatment should be given to him? presently he is being hospitalized in HI-TECH HOSPITAL , BHUBANESHWAR . will you suggest to transfer him to any recognized hospital in india.

Acute leukemia is broad category which may be myeloid or lymphoid.Again it has sub classification depending upon WHO classification.some varieties with favorable genetics are curable with chemotherapy whereas some may require like AIIMS,Delhi ,PGI Chandigarh,and CMC vellore are excellent centers
