Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to the XXXXXXX
As you have mentioned you are having bad breath since childhood and your Father is also suffering from pyorrhea, i feel that there could be presence of some systemic defects.
Here are some causes of pyorrhea like poor oral hygiene, plague and calculus deposition, GIT disturbances, Diabetes, Sinusitis, pharyngitis, oral pathologic conditions, tongue coatings. A thorough physical and oral examination is required to determine the cause and treat accordingly.
I would suggest you to get complete mouth scaling and polishing once in every six months.
At home,
-Brush your teeth twice daily, clean the tongue with a soft bristle toothbrush or
a tongue scraper.
-Develop a habit of using dental floss and interdental cleaners.
-Take antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily.
-Gargle your mouth twice after every meal.
-Take a complete balanced diet with plenty of raw vegetables, fruits, juices
drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.
-Avoid eating raw onions, garlic.
-Maintain a good oral ad physical health.
Hope you find this as helpful, if you have any other queries feel free to ask!
Wishing you good heath!
Regards,
Dr Qazi Ammara.
