Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to an inner ear disorder or chronic degeneration of the cervical vertebral column.

Is the vertigo triggered by head or neck movements? This would indicate one of the above disorders.

Anyway, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- A cervical spine X ray
- labyrinthine tests in order to exclude an inner ear disorder
- A Doppler ultrasound of the carotid and vertebral arteries in order to examine the blood flow in them and exclude possible narrowing.

Some blood lab tests ( fasting glucose, thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes, complete blood count) are necessary to exclude some metabolic disorders that may mimic this clinical situation.

You should discuss with your Doctor on the above tests.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,
