Question : Had turbinate reduction surgery 6 days ago . Have no sense of smell or taste is this normal
Brief Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. You can have mild decreased smell
Detailed Answer:
Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. You can have mild decreased smell just after turbinate reduction due to enlarged roomy cavity, nasal crusts. So start with a saline nasal spray solspre or nasal saline drop nasoclear which will clear the nasal mucus secretion Take steam inhalation. Start fluticasone nasal spray 2 puff at bedtime for 2 week which will decrease the allergic inflammation of the nose. Taste will also come back after smell becomes normal. Do moderate exercise, yoga or nasal breathing exercises. Review after 2 week.
