
Have Painful Purple Spot On Inner Thigh. What Could It Be?

Question: Hi on my upper right leg I have a purple spot. The pain in it is starting to get worse. I do not know exctly how long ive had it because its located on my inner thigh and hard to see. It is about the size of a quarter.

Pain is suggestive of either injury or inflammation.
If there is no injury, then inflammation has to be the cause.
Inflammation of the long saphenous vein can present like this.
Physical examination is needed to
1. Examine the spot as well as other changes in the body.
2. Look for lymph node enlargement in the groin.
3. Look at the Status of the veins of the leg and the foot.
