Thanks for your query.

Azelaic acid is a whitening agent and is found in whitening creams and peels.

It is a prescription drug and is to be used only on recommendation of a qualified dermatologist. Side effects include burning, redness and at times hyper pigmentation. I advice you to get it prescribed by the local doctor if it really fits your condition. Show up to the doctor if you have any reaction after using it.
