Question : i have a swollen lymph node in the right axilla, this problem is for last 6 months, hv done the sonomammography report says little inflammation in lymph node due to any infection nothing serious. this comes & goes automatically. also feeels a pain in the side of the right breast, sometime breast gets little stiff & again its ok. Kindly advise

axillary lymph nodes may swell due to any infection in the area they drain. So one may get swollen axillary lymph node in any infection or inflammation of arm, mammary area or axilla itself. Sometimes gland involvement may also be seen due to tuberculosis or lymphoma or breast carcinoma.
In your case as your breasts get tender and sore often, please XXXXXXX a gynaecologist to rule out the causes for same. Fibroadenosis is one such cause.the inflammation of lymph node may be linked to tenderness in breast area. So please fix an appointment with your gynaecologist.
