Warts may be a symptom of any std and it may may occur otherwise also . All warts may not be caused by HPV . But yes HPV is the cause of most warts . If you had warts 20yrs ago then it may be have been due to HPV infection . You need to be tested for HPV infection.

The infection may remain dormant in the body for several years and cause symptoms later also . Get a pap smear done. If you get symptoms again then get tested again .

Have regular checkups and pap smear.
