Question : I am on warfarin can I safely take L-tyrosine. I had XXXXXXX vein phrombosis and am on Warfarin.
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
There are a number of drugs that are not allowed with warfarin because they either decrease (cause clotting) or increase (cause bleeding) its effectiveness.
Tyrosine plays a role in blood clotting and excess levels can impair clotting. For this reason it is advised that the two should not be taken together unless under a doctor's supervision to monitor for problems.
It may be best, if possible, not to use the tyrosine, but if you still wish to , it should be supervision.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
