There are many causes of hand pain. a common condition is Carpal tunnel syndrome, where there is pain and some numbness over the palm which gets aggravated on performing repeated activity like typing or using machinery etc.

Avoid repetitive activity. Take pain killers. Best to show to an Orthopaedic or Hand surgeon to find the cause. You may need Nerve conduction studies to confirm the diagnosis.
