Question : Merena coil fitted 2 and 1/2 years ago but for the past couple of weeks having a bleed every 10 days with bad pain and cramping had no problems with it since it was fitted

I think medical attention is must.

There are chances of :

Pelvic infection
Local infection in genitals
Might be some displacement of device.

Please visit your primary care physician or gynecologist and get yourself examined.

Normally Merena is well tolerated by all,still as your are having problem medical attention is mandatory.
