Having A Smell In Neck And Diagnosed As Swollen Lymph Nodes. Having Fever And Feeling Dizzy. Should I Be Serious?
Lymph nodes are found in different parts of the body.
The main areas are: (1)cervical -these are nodes in the head , neck and jaw (2) the back of the neck
(3) in the axilla
(4) by the elbows, inner aspect -epitrocheal
(5) groin- called inguinal nodes
(6) in the chest and abdomen
(7) popliteal fossa
(8) femoral nodes- located in the upper thigh
Lymph nodes are part of the immune system. They are responsible for a particular area for example the ones in the neck are responsible for that area.
They are involved in fighting infection and inflammation in their particular area.
This is the most common reason for enlarged lymph nodes- in response to a near by infection.
They can also become enlarged in other situations as well but this is not as common.
The fever and dizziness indicate that you have some infective process ongoing for example flu or common cold. The nodes are enlarged in response to this infection.
They are one of the signs of infection.
They would decrease in size after the resolution of the illness. In some cases it can take 4 to 6 weeks for the nodes to back to normal size.
There is no particular remedy to decrease the size of the nodes, they will return to normal with treatment of the infection.
Any infective process can result in fever and dizziness, in the case of early infections there may be no additional symptoms to pinpoint exactly which infection is occuring.
As the infection progresses then other symptoms would develop.
You should consider the use of paracetamol to help with the fever. The use of cool liquids and clothing would also be helpful.
You should consider drinking alot of fluids and getting some rest as well.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
