From your description you are probably having sciatica which is as a result of a sciatic nerve compression (due to sitting for long). The fact that you are aging and your nerves are also aging could be responsible for it manifesting only now.
You will require pain killers especially antineuralgic medication to alleviate the symptom. You will need to avoid sitting for too long. Physiotherapy can do you some good too.
Please do visit an orthopedic surgeon for closer physical review and if possible an x-ray or MRI can be requested. Also advise to XXXXXXX an oncologist, because with your history of prostate cancer we can never be too sure if an osteophilic metastasis has occured years later (due to the cancer not removed completely as it might have already metastasized from the prostate gland.
