Having Pain Near Forehead. Eyes Feel Heavy. What Can This Be?

Question: My son (9 years) is having pain the middle to left side of his forehead for last seven days. It occurs for several hours at stretch during the day. I can also notice that his eyes are heavy during the period of pain.

Thank you for posting your query.

The most likely cause of pain in your son is childhood migraine. Migraine occurs commonly in children, and may affect one side of head more. There may be a feeling of nausea or vomiting. Pain increases in sunlight or with noise or after studies.

Other cause to be excluded would be sinusitis.

Please show him to a neurologist to confirm the diagnosis.
