Question : I have a sharp intermitent pain in my groin area approximately 1 inch to the left of my penis. It started as a minor discomfort several weeks ago but today it has become a sharp pain which occurs during certain movements like getting up or leaning forward. Do you have any idea of the cause?
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
The probable reasons for this kind of pain are:
>Some infection in urinary tract
>Stone any where in the tract
>Infection in testis or its surrounding.
>Very less likely some pulled up muscle
As intensity of pain is increasing it is better that you seek medical attention.
In mean time you can take any analgesic that you are comfortable with.
Your doctor after examination may advice some work up like urine examination, ultrasound as per need.
I hope this helps.
Wishing you good health.

Dr.Pragnesh
