Having Stinging Pain In Chest Area And Heart. Having Black Spot In Heart. Is The Pain Related To Spot?
My name is XXXXXXX I am 21 years old and I have a question I hope you may answer for me.
I been getting a sharp stinging feeling in my chest area near my heart. It would feel as if a needle is going through it and I would have to take slow short breaths for it to not hurt until the pain goes away. As far as I know nobody in my family has had any heart issues. Also according to my mother I was born with a dark spot in my heart that was suppose to go away as I got older. This being in 1992 and in Mexico I am not very sure to believe that. Could the stinging feeling I get have something to do with the black spot I was born with?
Thank you,

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for using XXXXXXX
I went through the history and understand your concern.
1. With the presenting illness and keeping your age and family history in mind I like to exclude musculoskeletal pain as initial diagnosis. This is more localized severe pain. By applying local analgesic and with NSAIDs and muscle relaxants like chlorzoxazone the pain will disappears.
2. I don't think the symptom is due to cardiac cause. But since you are telling about black spot just exclude any cardiac problem with echo-cardiogram and ECG. This may help us to diagnose if any cardiac problem.
I will be concerned if you develop sudden severe chest that radiates to the neck or left arm, loss of consciousness (fainting), shortness of breath, sudden difficulty in speaking, sweating and weak pulse. If any of these symptoms kindly consult your doctor. Otherwise no need to worry.
3. So in nutshell practice good life style habits like regular exercises, healthy food and plenty of fluids. Apply topical analgesic and have NSAID and muscle relaxant for pain. Get done ECG and echo cardiogram to rule out any cardiac problem.
Hope this helps you. Feel free to ask if any relater query and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you faster recovery and good health.
