Question : Hello- I had a CBC with diff and platelets blood test done last week. I filed my nails hard and then had some splinter hemorrhages and I’m a hypochondriac. I was scared it was a leukemia. I take 50 mg Atenolol and 300 mg Zoloft for anxiety.
These were my results-
Does it look like Leukemia or Lymphoma?

Brief Answer:
The blood report shows elevated lymphocytes & eosinophils.leukemia unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on Ask A Doctor.
I have gone through your blood report.
The blood report shows an elevated white blood cell count along with elevated lymphocytes and elevated eosinophils.
Lymphocytes are elevated in case of chronic infection and inflammation like viral infection.
Eosinophils are elevated in cases of allergy, parasitic infections etc.
The blood picture is not suggestive of leukemia or lymphoma.
However, I suggest you to get a peripheral blood examination to assess the morphology of the lymphocytes.
You can continue atenolol and zoloft as per your doctors prescription.

Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
Peripheral blood smear examination will determine the morphology of cells

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
I am doctor with specialization in Pathology.
Peripheral blood smear examination is needed to assess the morphology of elevated lymphocytes.
In infections, there are subtle changes in morphology of cells.
However, possibility of leukemia is rare.
