Question: Hello Doctor. Am a 29 year old mother of 1.5 year old baby. 2 weeks back, I encountered chills along with low grade fever at 99.5...the same continued for three days...I then took test...report I've attached... Typhoid positive... Keeping covid in mind, my doc suggested Azithromycin from Day 1... Since on day 3 I was detected with typhoid, he asked me to finish the course of azith along with dolo and vitamin tablets... I felt better for a week to ten days after finishing the course...now randomly I get chills without fever...only chills...like unable to bear AC at home, cannot use tap water... Any idea what could be the reason? I'm hypothyroid...tested my levels recently...it was all good.

I have gone through your query with diligence. Typhoid culture should be done. CRP level should be checked also. Peripheral blood smear also should be done to rule out malaria.
I would suggest antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for 10 days in such case.This will clear the typhoid infection.You can approach your doctor for this.
