Question : Hello Doctor,

Hope you are doing great.

There are some red pimple like patches on my left thigh, around the scrotum area; picture attached. These itchy patches appear along with red bumps. I have tried various ointments (OTC) but no result. Seeking your guidence around the matter.

Looks more like ring worm infection, try KZ ointment for 6 weeks.

Thank you for your question on Ask a Doctor.

I have seen the attached images, the pattern of the red pimple like eruptions is similar to that of ringworm infection (it is a a fungal infection).

I advise you to apply KZ ointment over all the rashes twice a day for 6 weeks for complete remission and please make sure the region is not moist due to sweat or wet clothes.

If you do not see any improvement, then you must consult a dermatologist and get examined.

If there is pus from the pimples, then also you must consult a local dermatologist and get an antibacterial ointment prescribed and oral antibiotics if necessary.
