Hello Doctor, Just Want Discuss One Situation Which Is Killing

Question: Hello Doctor,
Just want discuss one situation which is killing me.
During Covid period from April, I got Work from Home. While staying in home I was stuck with one bad habit. Sorry to discuss these things.
Sometime to relax my mind I watch porn while sitting and watching porn and putting pressure to genital with feet semens come out.
Usually I need to rush to bathroom to change and wash my underwear. So after some time, I found one workaround to put my home discarded/old handkerchief inside my underwear so that semens will come to handkerchief and I don't need to change my underwear.
But on 5th August I had finished my work at 11 PM but before going bed again went for came activity as my wife was sleeping in other room so not pick handkerchief from original location but I found one handkerchief nearby me on another room where I was doing work. But that handkerchief was bit wet so at that time I was bit doubtful as it was wet so for safer side I sprayed dettol liquid. On second day I asked my wife yesterday there was one handkerchief and bit wet so she I had used is to wipe something and I used water on it.

For around 7 days I was okay and busy in my work but after that doubt has created in my mind
1. Whether that handkerchief was mine?
2. If someone has thrown this handkerchief after masturbating and there was any semens. Day by day many doubts has coming into my mind. Due to fear of HIV lot of things where coming in mind. I started searching on internet to get solution but totally got confused.
In my mind thought are coming if semens in handkerchief has touched my urethra or mucous membrane so it is same situation like sex. There is no clear information in how much time HIV will die in outside environment and in wet form HIV is still active.
Do you think if wet semens come into contact with urethra or mucous membrane can infect outside human body?

I know these thing are hypothetical but still these through are coming due to OCD/Fear. Lot of things are coming into my mind from couple months I am doing this things form couple of months
So even thinking if daily someone has thrown and I have used that.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

Let me ask you a question first. Do you really suspect that there is a possibility of someone's semen on that handkerchief? Your wife told you that it was wet from water. So, why do you still suspect that it was wet from semen? Any which way, the virus thst causes hiv/253657?iL=true" >AIDS does not survive outside the body for long and dies quickly from drying. So, HIV is rarely if ever transmitted by fomites like clothes. The only way HIV is transmitted is through direct sexual contact with an infected partner, either vaginal, anal or oral sex.

Hope to assist you further with your query.

Thanks for your response!!
From my side I can assured you in my whole life I do not have any type of relation with any other female apart from my wife and we are loyal to each other.
Even in my dream I cannot do any risky activity. I don't know, how I stuck with this wrong habit watching porn and doing this activity in this lockdown period.
I was doing this activity from last couple month occasionally but got doubt from 5th August since I found handkerchief little wet. Yes you correct no one can throw handkerchief with semen with like this, I am getting anxiety because I used handkerchief and its touches my urethra and not any other skin.
1. In men urethra is entry point of HIV.
2. There is no exact information, In how much time HIV virus will get deactivated outside human body and In wet form still it can exists.
Due to above points I am becoming anxious and above scenario are coming if some thrown handkerchief and I have not observed it.

1. So, do you think HIV can infect in wet form outside human body in wet form, if it touched urethra? how it different actual sex activity?
2 I have read HIV virus is not able to reproduce outside human so doesn't maintain infectious status. So if it again comes into contact human. Can it infect?
3 It my though due to fear or there any type of risk.

Brief Answer:
regarding HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

The virus cannot survive outside the body for more than a few seconds so any time lag outside the body makes it non infectious. The virus usually enters through minor tears on mucosal surfaces during sexual activity/ intercourse rather than mere touch on mucosa or urethral tip.

Take care
