Question : Hello Doctor,

My name is Nilendu. I am having some issues in life due to lack of concentration, forgetfulness, having memory issues. I tend to repeat mistakes all the time, most worrying part is even if I am told to follow any instruction my mind misses few steps and the job which I was told to do gets messed up. This is affecting my personal and professional life. I went to doctor once and was prescribed amphetamine which did help somehow. Now I have relocated to a different state and do not have that medicine any more.

Kindly can you advise what I need to do.

Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, in my opinion, you should definitely consult neurologist and get done diagnosis.
There are some brain problems which can lead to these symptoms.
Sometimes, vitamin b 12 and vitamin d 3 deficiency can also cause similar symptoms.
So also get done vitamin b 12 and vitamin d 3 levels and if Deficiency than you will need supplements.
So my suggestion is, don't start amphetamine directly, first diagnose and then start appropriate treatment.
