Question : Hello Doctor.. Once again I am asking a question. What can cause blood in semen? I have had a very low testosterone level since last since having it checked last year and was using Axiron for about 5 months with little results. during that time and since then I have had little to no sex drive or ability to obtain an erection. Well today I tried and was semi successful in ejaculating but noticed the semen was a thicker consistency and a little yellow colored with tinges of blood. I do not have any urination issues nor testicle issues (outside of what appears to be reduction in size since last year,) but no pain etc.. I am concerned as to why there is this discoloration as well as why there would be blood. Can you please shed any light on this as to possible causes and what I should do going forward? Thank you ever so much !
Brief Answer:
It is unrelated to your testosterone issue.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Blood is semen can be a sign of prostate related problems like prostate enlargement or inflammation of prostate(prostitis). Infective causes like urinary tract infection or stone disease can also cause blood in semen.
It is unrelated to your testosterone issue.
As of now you can go for a semen analysis to look for any signs of infection or traces of blood.
Hope I have answered your query.
