Question : Hello Doctor, This is T V Leo aged 33 from Tamil Nadu, XXXXXXX For the past 3 days there is severe sprain starting from the right side of the neck to the shoulder . Even couldn't able to turn the head. Also feeling difficult while sleeping.This started when I was travelling last week. Have taken a paracetamol + pain relief tablet and have applied external gel (Volini) but it didn’t subside. Requesting to prescribe medicine for the same with dosage.

Hi thanks for posting the query.
Are you using laptop for long hours, if so have intermittent breaks every half an hour.

For pain you can take Tab. Nucoxia MR 1 tablet 2 times a day for 3-5 days. See if this is available in pharmacy without prescription. Most of the times they do ask for prescription of this medicine.

Hi Doctor,

Thanks for your quick response. I am not using the laptop for the past one week. I am having a sprain kind of effect and not the usual neck pain. I also tried using pain relief plaster, but I did not feel any difference. You have mentioned the tablet Nucoxia MR for pain, does it help for my neck sprain? (I missed to mention about my sprain on the original question)

Hi Doctor,

I did not find the same tablet and instead they gave me of a different companY of the same tablet "Etoshine MR". I am feeling much better after taking the tablet. I will continue the course and get back if I face any issue.
