Question : Hello Dr...i have scrotum and anal itching for many years by now and i have tried anitfungal, antibiotic creams, fluconazole tabz, antibiotic tabs, retin a gel, fluticasone propionate, mometasone fuorate, levocetrizine, claritin etc...i noticed that there are bumps that causes tngling sensation everytime and creates itching but there are no puss. pls find attached pictures and advise

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have reviewed your query and viewed the image.

I can see dry scaly patches in the groin and perianal skin.I would keep a possibility of fungal infection and I suggest you to take an oral antifungal e.g Itraconazole 100mg Capsule, twice daily for 2-4 weeks. In addition I suggest you to apply a topical antifungal e.g Amorolfine 0.025% cream, twice daily for a few weeks. In addition you may also take an oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg tablet once a day for symptomatic relief from itching.

Thank you Dr. Can I take claritin instead of levocetrizine. also what about the bumps because that causes tingling sensation and there are many such bumps..is it folliculitis or ingrown hair or bacterial infection. Pls advise as m having this issue more than 4 years ...thanks.
