Question : Hello! For the last week I have had problems with my stomach. I can be good all day and then eat one thing that maybe my stomach doesn't like and I am on the toilet the rest of the day. This evening my stomach was bothering me a little bit, but good most of the day and then I sat down with a cup of tea and a cookie. Then not 15-20 min later I had diarrhea. Some days I eat one thing and I suffer the rest of the day.
Could it just be irritable bowel and what should I do if it is? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Irritable bowel syndrome, avoid food that trigger it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
It seems to be irritable bowel syndrome.
First of all you can avoid eating that kind of food which you spot that it triggers the symptoms.
You can use loperamide or simethicone to ease diarrhoea. Also using probiotics can help the intestinal flora.
Avoid eating rich fiber foods, fruit juices especially apple and orange juices, avoid gluten.
Also anxiety, depression and mood swings can make the irritable bowel syndrome happen.
Taking anxiolytics and antidepressants can help mood change and also irritable bowel syndrome.
Hope I have answered the question.
