Question : Hello.

I am a female and two days ago I noticed a cluster of about 8 ulcers on one side of my labia. They are small crater-like, red, and only painful when touched.

I have been having protected sex.

Seems like it could be genital herpes. It usually presents as grouped, discrete, erosions with pain and burning sensation. Though protected sex reduces the risk but does not entirely eliminate the risk of transmission of herpes simplex virus. It could be an old infection which is manifesting as genital erosions.
