Hello, I Am On 1 Mg Lorazepam Taken At Bedtime

Question: Hello, I am on 1 mg lorazepam taken at bedtime to help me sleep. I have been on it 1 week. I have some daytime grogginess. Does this side effect eventually go away with treatment?
Brief Answer:
This can be prevented by reducing the dose
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
From the available description it appears that 1mg lorazepam is slightly high for you. In that regard it will be better if you can reduce the dose of lorazepam to 0.5 mg rather than 1 mg. In case 0.5 mg remains insufficient for you, three fourth of tablet can be used.
In regard to your question I like to assure you that with passage of time, morning over gogginess will be reduced to a large extent, even if the dose remains same.It may take two to four weeks.
I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
