Question : Hello. I feel reassured that there is little chance of an std including hpv through hand job - this took place in a massage parlor. However, if woman spat on penis for lubricant, almost certain this did not happen, would it increase chances of sti. This regrettable drunk decision one week ago was over in a few minutes.

Brief Answer:
Regarding possibility of STDs from saliva

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for your query.
Saliva is infectious, especially if she had a history of Cold sores (HSVtype1) which can cause genital herpes either through oral sex on a male partner or if she used it as a lubricant. The chances of transmission are more if she had cold sores at that time but less if she had a silent infection. Syphilitic ulcers and sores inside oral cavity can make saliva infectiois, however, if she has silent infection with no clinical lesions or sores she is not infectious. HIV is less of a risk because saliva is inhibitory to the virus unless she has blood mixed saliva since blood is infectious. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia usually infect the throat which is further away from oral cavity so very unlikely that someone could get gonorrhea/chlamydia from a spit.
Take care. Let me know if you need any more assistance on this.
